I have to tell you today was one of those days, you wished you could take back. Last Monday I took a short sale listing. Tuesday I submitted all the paperwork(it was confirmed all paperwork was received) Great sign, as I have yet to get an OK on the first time with all paperwork being received. The next comment raised my eyebrow, as the customer service rep said to me” you will have authorization by Tuesday of next week to speak on your clients behalf.” I said that is unheard of, the normal time is 24-72. The rep said “that was company policy” I said I have done many short sales with your bank, and it has never been that long.
A long story short after 42 minutes of speaking to morons(excuse me) bank employees I finally was able to speak to the vice president of the bank. I thought I was getting somewhere now WRONG!!!
This person goes on to tell me, that they are overloaded with short sales, and he would make every effort to get my authorization as quickly as possible… blah blah!!!! I could not believe this. OK there was Thanksgiving I will give them that. I called Monday the bank VP said it was almost done.. I blasted him on the phone(oops not the smartest thing to do.) Guess when I finally got authorization??? Tuesday of this week.
Now here is the fun part. The first question out of my mouth was, is there a Trustee Sale set? umm hold on please(6 minutes later) no joke, yea the sale is set for December 4, 2008… You have got to be kidding me. The home owners said which I believe “they never got notice of this sale”, and they were dumbfounded like I was. I tried everything possible to get this postponed, the bank said we will give you until 5:00pm 12/4/08. For those of you in my shoes, you get whatever offer you can to try to postpone the sale if you know what I mean. I got an offer submitted at 3:13pm today. 4:54pm I got the dreaded call I’m sorry your offer was not accepted, this property will go to sale at 9:00am 12/5/08. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I SLAMMED THE PHONE DOWN, AND HAD A PIT IN MY STOMACH… HOW COULD THEY DO THIS I WONDERED. Well to make a long story short I turned this over to my attorney partner, and will pray this gets resolved….
I have said in other post that these banks can make your life a nightmare if you get them upset which I believe I did. or you can be treated as gold, and everything goes smoothly. My best advice is try your best at not getting upset with the bank or your file will end up in the trash..

Ouch Bernie, that can be a disappointment.
It’s unfortunate the sellers didn’t get introduced to you sooner so that you would have had more time than a couple of days.
