Free Tools for Real Estate Agents

by Shane Pollock on October 13, 2009

There are so many great tools available to real estate agents to allow us to do our job better and easier. Most of these tools are free and we don’t even know about them. Here are a few free tools I have been using recently with great success:

FreeConferencePro
This is a free conference calling service packed with all the features you would expect from a pay service. Some of the things I really like are:

  • Ability to record and save conference calls
  • Easy to use interface
  • Ability to email out Icalendar items
  • Custom audio tones
  • Custom welcome greetings
  • Extremely clear audio

This is a great tool that I have used numerous times when working with clients, co-workers and colleagues. You would never know it is not a pay service.

Hootsuite
There are dozens of Twitter management applications out there like TweetDeck. However Hootsuite has really made an impression on me. It is a web based product so you can log in from anywhere and have all your settings right there. Some of the features include:

  • Multiple Twitter account access
  • Fantastic stat tracking for URL clicks, etc.
  • Easily setup multiple RSS feeds for different twitter accounts
  • Tabbed view for easy navigation between different options
  • Three column layout to view all your different Twitter information at once
  • Excellent videos that uncover a lot of the power of the product

If you are looking for a very easy to use Twitter management tool, I strongly suggest Hootsuite. It allows you to quickly and easily take advantage of the power of Twitter.

Mikogo
I really like all the benefits of remote meeting tools like GoToMeeting, however I don’t like paying the monthly fees. Mikogo is a free online meeting tool that actually delivers. This web collaboration tool is professional and easy to use. Setting up a meeting is very straight forward and the connection speeds have always been fast. I have used Mikogo numerous times when:

  • Discussing homes online and planning showing itineraries with clients
  • Remote support of co-workers PCs
  • Online meeting with brokers in my office

The product also offers a lot of the same features as pay tools including session recording and playback, file transfers, presenter switching and white boarding (John Madden style highlighting on the remote screen).

Whether you are looking for a better way to collaborate with clients or co-workers or just looking for that “Ah-hah” moment Twitter, these tools should help. The best part of all they are free! If you have some great free finds, please let me know.

Hey, good suggestions, but the best free tool is WordPress, which, of course, what powers this site. Got to try Hootsuite…trying to keep track of four twitter accounts is driving me nuts.
