Property Management Forum

When I decided to build a Property Management business earlier this year, I did as much research as I could to make sure this was a good business move for me.

With the experience I have online, I thought for sure I’d be able to find some busy property management forums where I could learn from other experienced property managers.

However, I couldn’t find many sites that had information on property management, landlords and tenants all on one place.

While the property management groups on social networking sites like Linkedin and Active Rain did seem to have a few relevant and educational conversations, they lacked the interaction from tenants and landlords that I was looking for.

Yahoo Answers, Craigslist and a few various city related forums had some small sections dedicated to renters ranting, but it wasn’t necessarily the type of comprehensive feedback I was looking for in order to prepare myself for every situation I needed to be aware of.

Anyway, with over a year’s experience as a full-time property manager now, I’ve decided to launch a property management forum section on our Wanna Network Real Estate Forum. My goal is to try and fill a small void in this industry for property managers, and hopefully for landlords and tenants.

This section of the forum is still in its infancy stage, so please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts if you have any suggestions.

And, if you’re a participating Property Management Company, I’ll be happy to help you out by adding your info to our directory of property management companies.

If you get a moment, check out our sister site, Residential Property Management.

Your decision to create to post was just right. As it will help the readers by providing info, it will also be an advantage to you by creating link to those people engaged in the same field as yours. I’m sure this will help you adapt new information sites that will be in use for your progress as a new property management agent. Good luck to the new horizons that you may be engaging so far!

I also entered the property management market because of the limited resources available. The focus of Home Property Management is to be a resource to home property managers.

Same here, I started investing in sacramento property at the trough of the crash. The repairs were moderate; The only hard part was finding someone to manage the properties for me. Fortunately, since the cashflow was good, I just started a small company of 4 or so to do it myself.

We use this program called Rent Pro (rentprosolutions.com) and it’s been a real time and money saver

Stockton is good too if you know where to look. (for investment houses, not to live!)

    Hi Tony,

What property management software do you use? I recently started my own brokerage, with a specialization in property management, and opted for Appfolio. Interested to hear your thoughts.

    Hey Jared,

I narrowed my choices down to Appfolio and Buildium property management software and ultimately chose Buildium. From my research, they both are great software and you can’t go wrong with either choice. I wish you nothing but success.
