Are you tracking which online sources send you the most leads? It is important to track where your leads are coming from so you can determine your ROI (return on investment). Your ROI should not only be calculated by how much money you spend but also how much time you spend. If you are spending a fair amount of time creating and maintaining ads in places that don’t generate leads, you should consider that a poor ROI. Unless of course you work for free.
We like to stay on top of the online sources that generate the most home buyer leads for our member’s. Clicks and traffic are good but leads are even better. Following is a list of the top 5 directories that generated the most leads to our members real estate listings between Oct 2009 through Dec 2009. They are sorted by top lead generator first.

2. Trulia
3. Yahoo
4. Oodle
5. Zillow
These leads are only email leads and do not account for phone leads. Some directories such as Craigslist do not allow outbound links (against their TOS) so we are not able to track leads from them. These counts are from directories that can capture leads from a web form and send them to our system or directories that allow for a backlink, which we can capture lead data from.
