Douglas County is in many ways the center of equestrian activity in the metro Denver region. Few other areas can boast of so many horse parks, equestrian clubs and wide open spaces of trails for riding as Douglas County. The crowned jewel of the area, in equestrian terms, has to be the Colorado Horse Park. This facility offers visitors the opportunity to participate in many equestrian activities, and it’s also a wonderful way for people who are new to the equestrian world to explore their dreams. The Colorado Horse Park is the host of the North American Junior and Young Riders Championships, which is the first step for young riders who wish to become Olympic equestrians. The part features clinics as well as educational events for riders of all ages, and has even been host to the Accord Riders with Disabilities twice.
