Funny (or maybe sad), but true story. My daughter graduated from Washington State University with honors (3.5+ GPA or something like that) at the age of 20 (yes, 20) last year. She’s 21 now and finding full-time work as a student teacher eagerly awaiting the call-up to a full time position in a 3rd grade classroom (her ideal preference). She has enrolled in one of those real estate agent schools to become a real estate agent. Small problem,- she does not have a high school diploma. She started college at 16 and finished at 20, by-passing the high school graduation thingy. The issue is in the state of Washington to become a real estate agent you must first have a high school diploma. The college degree with honors doesn’t fit the bill. Hmm, perhaps the smart governing folks never factored into the equation a college degree might be a little better to have on the resume than a high school diploma.
Meanwhile, the Washington state government (the same or similar folks who probably make the real estate agent prerequisites) are going bankrupt laying off all sort of folks. Government at it’s finest, eh!
Moral of the story: Check your state’s real estate licensing law’s prerequisites (especially, the fine print)!

That has got to be the weirdest scholastic requirement I have ever heard, You can become a real estate agent with a high school diploma but not a college degree. I’m pretty certain with her credentials your daughter can find other real estate companies outside of the state.
