- Once again, Tri Cities Washington has made a top 10 list, and this time for projected growth throughout the decade. Factoring in the most recent 2010 census, coupled with historical data and current economics, the metro area of Tri Cities Washington consisting of Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco Washington ranks #2 according to Proximity One

Kennewick-Pasco-Richland, Wash., is expected to see the second-biggest population increase by 2020 (35.3 percent), following a 32.6 percent jump between 2000-10. Chosen as one of Inman News’ “10 Real Estate Markets to Watch in 2011” in March, the area has a relatively low unemployment rate (7.3 percent in April) and a multi-industry economy.
